Understanding and Responding to the Role of Mental Health Diagnosis in Challenging Behavior

Presented by Melissa Cheplic, MPH, CHES & Theodosia Paclawskyj, Ph.D., BCBA-D, NADD-CC

Many individuals with DD also present with mental health diagnoses that contribute to challenging behavior. In order to understand the impact of diagnosis on behavior, we need to understand the role of establishing operations or “setting events” – an essential concept in addressing problem behavior in application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and PBS (Positive Behavior Support). Case examples will be presented to illustrate the application of practical approaches in functional assessment and intervention to identify and address setting event conditions.

This webinar meets the criteria for 1 CEU for Licensed Mental Health Practitioners and a Certificate of Attendance for CEU will be forwarded to the email address entered during registration upon successful completion of the webinar and quiz.
