Traumatic Brain Injury

Presented by Brandy Fenimore, LIMHP and Ashley Nielsen, LCSW

This is a training opportunity for participants to learn more about Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), including how to assess TBI and work with individuals experiencing the effects as well as best practice interventions. Those who participate will learn about impact of this injury, including the effects on each area of the brain, physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms; as well as the impacts on daily living. After discussion and samples, participants will be able to identify the difference between screening and assessment; a list of evidence based screening tools will also be provided. Those who participate will also learn about interventions and tips for the trainer supporting an individual with a TBI. Lastly, this training will teach participants how these services can be funded. By the end of this training, participants will have an increased understanding of how to screen for, tailor interventions, and better serve individuals effected by a TBI.
