This interactive training will enhance the participant’s abilities to understand diabetes, both Type 1 and Type 2, apply nutrition education to their special needs, and develop diabetes friendly menus and grocery lists based on a limited budget. It will also guide these individuals in learning to recognize red flags and manage health concerns associated with diabetes. In promotion of holistic wellness, this training will teach individuals how to incorporate applied nutrition management strategies, modify recipes to promote healthier food choices, apply nutrition concepts to restaurant meals, and develop realistic exercise goals for health promotion.
